1.Short, and big enough to read on a phone
One or two lines. A lot of grandpas read at arm length with the text size turned all the way up, and a long paragraph in a small font simply does not get read:
- Happy birthday, Grandpa. Wishing you a year with nothing to worry about.
- Happy birthday, Pop. Still the person this family calls when nobody else knows the answer.
- Happy birthday. Thank you for all the stuff you did that none of us saw at the time.
- Happy birthday, Grandpa. Hoping this year is kind to you and to your knees.
- Happy birthday. You built all of this. Today you are allowed to sit down.
- Happy birthday, Papa. Ninety percent of my patience came from you. I am working on the rest.
