Is this a wall or a keepsake? A wall is many people saying a short thing, read once, in a batch, and then done. A keepsake is fewer people saying a longer thing, opened again in March for no reason. A retiring colleague of eleven years is a wall. A fortieth, a parent, a best friend, a person going through something hard is a keepsake. Everything below sorts cleanly once you have answered that, and almost every bad choice in this category is a wall built where a keepsake was wanted.
